THE 12 contestants for the first 2010 Marianas Bikini Open were presented to the public at the Hard Rock Café in Garapan on Saturday night.
The candidates were presented in pairs but they will be judged individually. The Mr. & Ms. Bikini Open 2010 winners will be announced during the coronation night at the Hard Rock Café on Feb. 12.
The Marianas Bikini Open contestants are Chrishia Leon Guerrero and partner Joshua Wodson, Diana Jean Castro and Kurt Deon Oco, Jessa Castro and Angelo Hernandez, Marilyn Cruz and Polo Salazar, Eloisa Alejo and Jemmeniel Recorte, Leslie Elameto and Jacob Gonzales.
During the presentation, the search for Mr. & Ms. Queen of Hearts special award was also conducted but the winners will be announced on coronation night.
The Green Meadow School dance crew provided intermission numbers during the event.
Event organizer Sharmaine Casquero said the 12 contestants all showed interest in environmental issues and are eager to help in environmental programs.
The contestants conducted a cleanup last month and picked up trash on Micro Beach and in Garapan.
A part of the proceeds from the event will go to support the Marianas Island Nature Alliance in the CNMI, Casquero said.
The coronation night on Feb. 12 will also feature fashion shows with the candidates wearing costumes made from recycled materials, formal wear and other costumes. Entrance for the show will be $10, inclusive of one drink.
