THE Saipan and Northern Islands Municipal Council commends Chalan Kanoa Bishop Tomas Aguon Camacho for his 25 years of Episcopal leadership, apostolic and liturgical services to the Catholic community of the CNMI.

“It is the fervent hope and desire of the people of Saipan and the rest of the Northern Marianas that his Excellency enjoy the rest of his earthly life in peace, with love and eternal happiness in his native paradise island of Saipan,” the council stated in a commemorative resolution it adopted.
The resolution was presented to the bishop by council chairman Ramon B. Camacho and vice chairman Eric D. Diaz during the silver anniversary of the Diocese of Chalan Kanoa on Jan. 16.
The resolution commemorates the “25 years of selfless services in God’s name by Bishop Camacho in his ministry, school teaching duties and social services.”
“The whirlwind of apostolic services his Excellency so unselfishly dedicated his entire life’s experiences to the calling of his Ministry and the education and social services needs of the island children is an awesome phenomena and a chapter difficult to match in normal human experience of the faithful, resonating quite distinctly and closely parallels the fine tradition of the late Mother Teresa,” the resolution stated.
