MVA conducts tourism seminar in South Korea

(MVA) — The Marianas Visitors Authority’s Marianas Seminar in Busan, South Korea on Nov. 15, 2017 was attended by over 100 travel agents, receptive operators, airlines, and industry partners interested in learning more about the destination.

MVA conducted the seminar with 13 industry partners — Jeju Air, Aqua Resort Club, Kanoa Resort, Kensington Hotel Saipan, PIC Saipan, LaoLao Bay Golf & Resort, Mariana Resort & Spa, World Resort Saipan, Hyatt Regency Saipan, Fiesta Resort & Spa, T Galleria Saipan, Alamo and Hertz.

In his welcoming remarks, MVA Managing Director Christopher A. Concepcion thanked the many travel trade partners in attendance who helped make Korea the #1 source market for the Marianas last fiscal year.

“With the strong collaborative relationships and great support from our MVA partners, more than 200,000 Koreans visited the Marianas last year,” Concepcion shared in his address. “Since Jeju Air will start operating daily Busan-Saipan flight services starting from Dec. 15, we are expecting to see continued growth in arrivals from Busan, Korea. I would like to ask our partners for the continuous support and interest in the Marianas, so more Koreans can visit and experience the ultimate beauty of the islands.”

A presentation session introduced general information about the Marianas, airline status updates, B2C & B2B programs and marketing program achievements. In addition, MVA’s partners each gave a 7-minute presentation to introduce and raise awareness of their properties and features. The conclusion of the event included the largest-ever raffle drawing at a Marianas seminar in Korea, including two airline tickets from Jeju Air, nine hotel certificates, five T Galleria shopping coupons and eight rental car certificates.
