MVA joins 2018 Asia Dive Expo in Singapore

(MVA) — Presenting the public and diving fans with various tourism products above and below water, the Marianas Visitors Authority joined the 2018 Asian  Dive  Expo  (ADEX)  Singapore  Ocean  Week  on April  6,  2018,  at  Suntec  Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre.  The expo is the longest-running and largest dive expo in Asia and attracted over 62,000 attendees.

The expo including a presentation by Marianas Ocean Tourism Ambassador Yorko Summer, who joined other world-renowned marine life artists, conservationists and photographers who spoke about their passion and work towards marine life.   Freediving master Jessea Lu also spoke on her experience in the Marianas in the Freediving/Mermaid zone of the expo.

At  the MVA booth, MVA’s Taiwan country manager Milane Tsai was joined by CAMS diving instructor Summer Wu and PADI rescue diver Nana Tsang of Summer Diving Saipan in sharing diving tour and general tourism information about the Marianas, conducting a diving survey, facilitating VIP visits to the booth, and making a video presentation.

The Marianas has become one of the world’s top diving resorts with complex underwater terrain, abundant tropical ocean life, historical war relics, and more than 60 world class dive site in Saipan, Tinian, and Rota.   For example, the waters of Rota with 50-200m visibility are recognized as some of the best in Micronesia.

“ADEX Singapore Ocean Week was another successful step in our efforts to build the diving reputation of the Marianas and to enhance the public’s understanding of our many diving and tourism resources,” said MVA marketing manager Broc Calvo. “We conducted over 120 surveys at the event to determine how better to reach and serve this niche market.  We also look forward to inviting more diving master and key opinion leaders with large followings to come experience our waters and share their experiences with their fans.”

Guam and Palau were among the other Micronesian territories in attendance.

The Marianas is accessible to visitors from Singapore via one-stop flight through Hong Kong, Southern China, Seoul, or Japan.
