The festival returns to Paseo de Marianas in the main tourist district on Saipan. A soft opening will be held on Sept. 20 from 5 to 10 p.m. with an ethnic parade, food sales, and demonstration and sales of arts and crafts. On Sept. 21 from 5 to 10 p.m., the festival will also feature live ethnic performances on-stage.

“In partnership with our various ethnic communities in the Marianas, we are looking forward to another great international Festival of Cultures in September,” said Marianas Visitors Authority Managing Director Priscilla Iakopo. “The weekend of Sept. 20-21 is not only the mid-autumn festival travel holiday in China, but also a weekend when summer charter flights will be arriving from Japan, and we are looking forward to sharing our multi-cultural celebration with all our visitors.”

MVA invites interested cultural groups to participate in the upcoming festival meeting scheduled for Aug. 9, 2019, at 2 p.m. in the MVA conference room. Participation forms are available at the MVA office in San Jose, Saipan, or interested participants may contact MVA community projects coordinator Jack Aranda at jaranda@mymarianas.com or 664-3219 for more information.
