PASSENGER cruise ships that make brief stopovers on Saipan are usually given traditional island welcome with cultural dancers and leis.
|Judy Torres of the Marianas Visitors Authority said that as of June 2013, two cruise ships had already visited Saipan. There were two such stopovers in 2012 and five in 2011.
Crystal Cruises is scheduled to visit in Feb. 2014. It will leave Los Angeles in January for an 89-day world tour and will visit Hawaii, Bali, Africa, Guam before heading to Saipan where it will dock at 8 a.m. on Feb. 4 and leave at 5 p.m. on the same day so it can proceed to Okinawa and Tokyo, China, Vietnam, Thailand, Singapore and other countries.
