Tourism council invites partners to Hafa Adai 5K

(MVA) — In support of its tourism education efforts, the Marianas Tourism Education Council is inviting tourism industry partners to sponsor walkers for Hafa Adai 5K on Saturday, April 8, organized by Pacific Islands Club Saipan and benefiting MTEC this year.

“We are so appreciative to PIC Saipan for choosing MTEC as the beneficiary of this year’s Hafa Adai 5K,” said MTEC Chairwoman Vicky Benavente. “This will be an incredible boost to our activities, including our industry presentations to schools in Saipan, Tinian and Rota. It would be wonderful to have tourism related businesses encourage their employees to join the event or even sponsor their $10 registration fee. We’re looking forward to a great event!”

MTEC has recently conducted tourism industry presentations at three more schools. In February, MTEC visited GTC Elementary School with special speaker Rob Travilla, who shared with students about how he has applied his passion for arts to build a business that promotes The Marianas. Travilla co-founded Tribe Marianas in 2015 with a mission to spread “good vibes and the beauty of island culture from our small but fascinating islands to all points of the world.”

Since its debut, Tribe Marianas has been one of the fastest growing brands on this side of the Pacific.

MTEC’s most recent presentations were held with five 5th grade classes at San Vicente Elementary on March 20 and fifth graders at William S. Reyes Elementary on March 31.
