DPS urges caution amid weather and ongoing construction

THE Department of Public Safety is urging the community to practice safe driving and exercise caution while driving on the island’s roadway.

With ongoing weather conditions and various construction projects taking place across the island, motorists are encouraged to exercise caution while on the roads. If you don’t need to drive, we recommend staying home to help reduce congestion and ensure safety for all.

To ensure a smooth travel experience, we also suggest using alternate routes, planning your journeys ahead of time, and remaining vigilant about congestion zones, especially during peak traffic periods.

Motorists are reminded to watch for crosswalks, pedestrians, and cyclists using the bike lanes. Stay alert, slow down in populated areas, and avoid distractions while driving.

Safety is our top priority, and we want to remind everyone that our officers are here to assist. If you witness a crime or experience an emergency, please do not hesitate to call 911. Thank you for your cooperation and commitment to keeping our roads safe.
