LAST Shot Hobbies Sharks remain at the top of the food chain in the Tuesday Division of the 2025 SBA Budweiser Open 8-Ball League, racking up 53 wins after taking down Black 8 Crooked Arrow, 9-4, in a match held Tuesday night at Black 8 Pool Bar.
The Sharks played with confidence as Brian Nelvis, Frankie Blas, and PJ Ramos each left six balls on the table against their respective opponents in the opening Singles 8-Ball set. Only Crooked Arrow’s Gus Taitano managed to secure a win in that round, 3-1.
In pairs, both teams looked evenly matched. Crooked Arrow’s Jerry Soriano and Rex Tasi claimed the first game of the Partners 8-Ball set, but Rolly Villanueva and Blas came back to take the second for an even split. The teams then split the next Singles 8-Ball set 2-2, with Crooked Arrow still trailing closely, 6-4.
However, the Sharks ensured that Crooked Arrow stayed in their place. Drake Taitano and PJ Ramos swept both games in the second Partners 8-Ball set to reestablish a comfortable lead. Then the duo of Gerald Cubal and Blas clinched the final Partners 8-Ball game, adding the icing on the victory cake, 9-4.
Last Shot Hobbies Sharks now lead the Tuesday Division with a 53-25 win-loss record, followed by:
Black 8 Ideal Signs Rustler (42-36)
Black 8 Crooked Arrow (41-37)
Black 8 Noypi Strikers (39-39)
Last Shot Golden Breakers (38-40)
Black 8 Rack N Roll (21-57)
