VETERAN player Joe Sablan Sr. topped the Amigos Golf Club September Ace of the Month Tournament on Sunday at the Kingfisher Golf Links.
Sablan cleared the front nine with a gross of 95. With a 24 handicap, his net score was 71.
On the back nine, he improved his performance with a gross score of 86. His 24 handicap gave him a net score of 62 and a total net score of 133.
In second place was Joe Tudela who completed the front nine with a gross of 78. With a handicap of 10, his net score was 68.
He struggled on the back nine with a gross of 80, but his handicap gave him a net score of 69 and a total net score of 137, good enough for second place.
In the side events, Frank Sablan was the Closest to the Pin on holes #8 and #15; Joe Torres ruled hole #6; and Joe Sablan Sr. was numero uno on hole #12. Each was awarded with $120.
