(Press Release) — On Saturday, Oct. 23, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency Ballroom, the Japanese Society and the Consular Office of Japan in Saipan will hold an online Rakugo or comic storytelling. The Rakugo will be performed by well-known Canadian traditional comic storyteller, Mr. Katsura Sunshine.
Rakugo is one of the traditional performing arts in Japan which began in Edo Period (400 years ago). Rakugo is storytelling with a humorous ending and uses only physical and hand gestures to advance the story with one person playing many roles.
