HONOLULU (BoH) — Bank of Hawai‘i has been named one of America’s Best Midsize Companies of 2025 by TIME. The bank is one of two Hawai‘i-based companies — alongside Hawaiian Airlines — to be included among the top 500 companies nationwide on TIME’s second-annual list.

The ranking recognizes 500 top-performing U.S. companies with revenues between $100 million and $10 billion that demonstrate excellence and strong performance in employee satisfaction, sustainability transparency, and revenue growth.

TIME partnered with Statista, a leading data and research firm, to evaluate companies across three key categories:

Employee Satisfaction. Based on a survey of more than 217,000 U.S. employees, assessing workplace image, atmosphere, working conditions, compensation, and equality.

Sustainability Transparency. Measured through Environmental, Social, and Governance indicators, including environmental impact, social responsibility, and corporate governance.

Revenue Growth. Evaluated using financial performance data from the past three years.

“Being named one of America’s Best Midsize Companies by TIME is a tremendous honor,” said Bank of Hawai‘i Chairman and CEO Peter S. Ho. “This recognition reflects the dedication of our teammates in creating a workplace rooted in trust, purpose and care every day. We remain committed to serving our communities with excellence, and are proud to represent Hawai‘i, alongside Hawaiian Airlines, on the national stage.”
