CNMI GOP mourns the loss of Rep. Ivan Alafanso Blanco

(CNMI GOP) — The CNMI Republican Party joins the entire Commonwealth community and the wider Micronesian region in mourning the passing of Rep. Ivan Alafanso Blanco, who served as a Republican Party representative in Precinct 3 and was slated to be the Republican Party senatorial candidate for Saipan.

In a statement on behalf of the CNMI Republican Party, its president James Ada said:

“There are no words that can truly capture the pain and emptiness we all feel for the passing of our dear friend and dedicated servant of the public, Ivan. In the days following the news of his departure, we have all witnessed the tremendous outpouring of sorrow from the CNMI people and the many friends, and supporters he has made throughout the Micronesian region.

“Ivan was a leader with a keen understanding and compassion for those around him. He approached every issue with humor and wisdom that uplifted and motivated his peers, as well as those he represented. In visits to those in Precinct 3, his passion to listen, understand, and empathize with the needs of his community was inspirational.

“His service was recognized throughout the nation as well. Recently, I was asked to convey the condolences and prayers of  National Republican Party Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel.

“The entire Republican Party, his friends, supporters and colleagues in his call to service all express our sincere gratitude for the life Ivan has lived in service to his community, and express our heartfelt condolences and prayers to his wife Carmen, his children Lilly, JC, Kide and Paige, and all those who knew and loved him.

“Ivan was a leader in our islands, and we have all learned from his lessons of faith, humility, wisdom, and compassion. We should all continue to serve our community in this spirit and with his memory in the years ahead.”
