DOVE, through D&Q, continues to support women soccer in the CNMI by renewing its sponsorship contract.
On Sunday, April 18, D&Q resident manager Max Kretzers handed a check for $10,000 to the NMI Football Association at the NMI Soccer Training Center recently.
D&Q has been the sponsor of the Dove Women’s League since 2015 when the company signed up for a three-year agreement. Since it expired in 2018, D&Q has renewed its sponsorship each year.
“D&Q’S donations have been a big help to the women’s soccer program, especially to the NMI women and girls national teams,” NMIFA general secretary Ross Zapanta said. “The funds are allocated for training uniforms, subsidies for off-island training camp expenses, and for local women events such as beach soccer, futsal, and the celebration of Women’s Football Day.”
Kertzers, for his part, said: “We feel this is really important to us…. We really believe in supporting the local community, the kids and the ladies. We thought, ‘this really makes sense.’ We saw the quality of the players and the abilities of the girls…. They are really turning out first class.”
