JOEL Buco and Jay Anne Felipe topped their respective divisions in the Saipan Unity Lions Club 5th Annual Bike Race on Sunday at Banzai Cliff.
Buco, who also topped the recent “Padyakan Sa (Pedalling in) Saipan” race, dominated the men’s division.
From Banzai Cliff, the racers made their way to Mobil, Suicide Cliff, Bird Island, Grotto and back to Banzai Cliff for a total distance of 35 kilometers. Buco was the first to cross the finish line with a time of 00:59:20.
In second place was Ren Ren Gaviola who rushed through just a few seconds behind with a finish time of 01:00:30 followed by Nap Dizon in third, clocking at 01:00:50.
Women’s division
In the women’s division, Jay Anne Felipe clinched first place well ahead of the competition with a time of 1:00:06, beating Lily Muldoon who was second at 1:06:20 and Kiniko Mckagan, who finished third at 1:15:02.
Age groups
The top three of each age group were also recognized.
In the men’s 40 and below category, Manolo Manalo took first place followed by Jomer Enriquez in second and Reno Academia in third.
In the women’s 40 and below age category, Shawanna Brenfleck was first followed by Kathy Ruszala.
In the men’s 40-44 age group, the top racers were Fred Remillo, first; Josh Kenttenton, second; and Ernie Henzon, third.
In the women’s 40-44 age group, Ayano Braxton was first; Yuki Rechucher, second; and Sheila Mabutas, third.
In the 45-49 age category, Dennis Bautista led the group followed by Jacob Pacman and Ricky Suba.
In the 50-54 category, Mark Isip was first; Abel Villafuerte, second; and Romeo Villa, third.
As for the 55-59 age group, the top three were Noel Altamirano, Roger Valencia and Edgar Abalos while in the 60 & above age category, Pax Guevarra slipped past Manny Sitchon and Florence Antonio.
