Burglary defendant released to third-party custodian

SUPERIOR Court Associate Judge Wesley Bogdan has granted the request of Diego Camacho Pinaula Jr. to be released to his father as his third-party custodian.

Pinaula, 28, was accused of burglarizing a house in Sadog Tasi, stealing a flat screen television and two digital cameras.

Glenn Nelson Vidal, 23, is Pinaula’s co-defendant in the case. They were charged with burglary and theft.

At the bail modification hearing on April 27, Pinaula was represented by court-appointed attorney Viola Alepuyo who waived the preliminary hearing.

Assistant Attorney General Chester Hinds appeared for the government.

After hearing from the parties, Judge Bogdan released Pinaula on a $7,500 unsecured bond to his father and placed the defendant under house arrest.

Pinaula can only leave the house with his father accompanying him, the judge said.

Pinaula will return to court on May 4 at 9 a.m. for an arraignment.

According to the Department of Public Safety, both defendants admitted breaking into a house and gaining entry through the window.

The defendants told police that they sold the stolen items to buy methamphetamine or ice.

The flat screen TV was recovered, police said.

As for Pinaula’s co-defendant, Vidal, no court information was available as of press time.
