The mayor’s executive secretary Vinycia Seman yesterday said although the visit is not part of the exchange program, the Japanese students will still learn about local culture and traditions while on island.
The six students will arrive on Christmas, Dec. 25 with a chaperon, and they will stay with a local family, Seman said.
“This is about an island Christmas experience. We are hoping they will enjoy their visit,” she added.
While here, the Japanese students will tour the island and visit its historical and cultural sites.
The students will not be interacting with their local counterparts since it is already Christmas break.
The visiting students will stay on island until Dec. 30.
This is the 27th year of the mayor’s office and the KSKK exchange program.
