Jury trial for defendants in kidnapping, assault set for July

Naraja told all the parties that failure to appear in court on July 7, 2011 for the pretrial conference “will be cause for dismissal or default.”

The Attorney General’s Office charged Cindy R. Aquino, 23, Audrey T. Camacho, 29, and Bernardita T. Sarkar, 48 with kidnapping and conspiracy to commit kidnapping, while Francsico M. Tydingco, 41, was charged with assault with a dangerous weapon.

The four were also charged with assault and battery, disturbing the peace, and with duty to report wounds or deaths.

On Aug. 4, 2010, police said Narayan Sarkar, husband of Bernardita T. Sarkar, was abducted, and was to forced to ride in a car that proceeded to Kagman.

The defendants took turns in kicking the victim’s chest, police said.

The victim later called 911 for assistance.

Police said the defendants were demanding money from the victim.The defendants have denied the charges.
