Lawmaker urges residents to keep beaches clean

In his open letter to Saipan residents and visitors, Demapan, Covenant-Saipan, said he and his Precinct 2 constituents appreciate the people for visiting beaches in Chalan Kanoa, like the Aquarius Beach and Sugar Dock.

He noted, however, that many still leave the beaches littered with trash.

“We live in a small but world class island with unmatched natural beauty and warm, hospitable people. Our respect for each other is contagious and our hearts are compassionate. It is these values that we continue to celebrate as a people and strengthens our ties as relatives, families, neighbors and friends,” Demapan said.

In the spirit of respect, he added, “I humbly ask you to preserve our beaches and parks in Susupe and Chalan Kanoa villages by keeping them clean and safe so other can equally enjoy and appreciate our environment.”
