Ex-cop gets 12 months for sexual abuse of a minor

Associate Judge Ramona V. Manglona imposed a five-year jail term on Jason Naputi Ayuyu, 28, all suspended except for 12 months with credit for the 15 days he had served at the Department of Corrections facility.

Ayuyu will serve his sentence  without the possibility of parole for the entire term of imprisonment, Manglona stated in her judgment and conviction order.

The court directed Ayuyu to travel to Saipan “at his own expense” and report to the Corrections facility on Jan. 2, 2011 to start serving the remainder of his sentence.

When he comes out of prison, Ayuyu will be placed on seven years probation, and must register as a sex offender.

Ayuyu will have no contact with his victim, or the victim’s family within 100 yards of the victim, the victim’s place of work or the victim’s house.

He will pay a $1,000 fine, a $100 court assessment fee within one year from incarceration, and an annual probation fee to be determined by the Adult Probation Office.

Officer Joan A. Pangelinan of the Tinian DPS Juvenile Unit said she received a telephone call from a female caller who informed her that Ayuyu was having a sexual relationship with a 14-year-old girl.
