Kabiriel timed in at 28 minutes and 53 seconds, winning the men’s division. Trailing him at the finish line were Aric Bickel (30:03) and Butch Sublemente (30:57), who earned second and third place, respectively.
Zuercher was the first female to make it back from the eight-kilometer trail, at 35 minutes and 21 seconds. Joining her in women’s category’s top three were Amanda Kloeppel (42:33) and Yumiko Mizuno (45:17).
The event had 46 registered runners, with 38 completing the course. From Obyan Beach, participants made their way through Dela Concepcion Drive, past Naftan Point and the rock quarry, and back.
This is PIC’s very first Picwee Fun Run, along with the Siheky Adventure Trail last March.
“We plan to have both events again in 2011,” said Resident Manager Deidre Halstead.
Proceeds of the fun run will support the Pet Assistance and Welfare Services and Marianas March Against Cancer.
