Stewart on behalf of officer-in-charge Robert Thompson, ENS, NMCBII, said the fence project is currently 80 percent complete and Dec. 4 is the slated completion date of the school project.
He said the team is now focusing primarily on the chain link portion of the project.
The construction of school fence was started by the US Navy (CAT-01-25) and continued by the US Army (CAT-130-01). Now the new US Navy (CAT-11-01) headed by Thompson will finish the project.
The school fence project is more than 1,000 feet wide and six feet tall. It aims is to keep the school safer and prevent students from skipping school. The school fence is funded by the United States of Agriculture.
Aside from school fence, the other team’s ongoing projects include the Ngiwal Access Road phase 1.
As discussed during the CACC meeting, the proposed planned improvements of the road includes the widening of un-improved portions of the road, drainage improvements by way of v-ditches, compacting and finish crowning.
Stewart said the access road is on track and slated to finish in January. The expected first delivery of the gravel was on Monday.
The Committee is on the process of clarifying an existing private property dispute and the availability of funding for ¾ minus gravel before the Civic Action Team will start the project.
