Koror State celebrates 27th Constitution Day

Gov. Yositaka Adachi announced that in line with the celebration, all of the KSG offices will be closed on Friday. The only office that will remain open is Koror State Rangers in Malakal.

There will be no festivity being prepared for the occasion, but instead the Constitution Day will be observed through a holiday.

Charlyne Uong, administrative officer of KSG, in an earlier interview said the KSG had its first biggest celebration on 10th Constitution Day and the second time was on its 25th Constitution Day. But in the succeeding years and for this year, the celebration will just be observed through a holiday.

Adachi signed an executive order on Sept. 24, 2009, stating that Koror State will traditionally celebrate Constitution Day on Oct. 21 of each year. However, if Oct. 21 falls on a Sunday, Monday or Tuesday, the Constitution Day holiday will be observed and celebrated on Monday. But if it falls on a Wednesday, Thursday, Friday or Saturday, the Constitution Day holiday will be observed and celebrated on Friday.

This year, Constitution Day falls on Thursday so the celebration will be on Friday.

The KSG Constitution was founded on Oct. 21, 1983.
