“Part of our commitment to transparency includes the need to be forthcoming and honest in our dissemination of information, so it’s important that we not put out false information,” he said.
NMPASI was given a “clean audit” by the U.S. Department of Health & Human Service office of audit services and office of inspector general for the Oct. 1, 2008 to Sept. 30, 2009 period.
The result of the audit was made possible through the newfound efforts by current board members and staff to get such a clean audit, Rayphand said.
“We have had findings in the past, so our audits have not always been clean,” he said, as he clarified the previously published report quoting him as saying that “their audits have always been clean.”
He said having “such a clean audit is something quite special and the result of some dedicated work by those currently involved with the agency.”
