Music of the ‘60s video clips to be shown at Club 200 event

“The video clips will bring back the famous singers, musicians and bands of the 1960’s such as the Beatles, Janice Joplin, Bob Dylan and more for the guests to enjoy,” NMI chapter executive director John Hirsh yesterday said.

This year’s theme is “Swinging ‘60s Saipan Style.”

“We are inviting everybody to join us. Come in your 1960’s attire, have fun and get a chance to win fabulous prizes, including the $15,000 grand prize,” he added.

Hirsh said despite the economic depression, the recent government shutdown, the reduced working hours and all the other challenges facing the islands, he is optimistic that the event will be supported by the community.

“We are doing this to raise funds for the programs of the local Red Cross which has benefited thousands of individuals in need of assistance, and we know the people will continue to support us,” he said.

Forty prizes are at stake for the lucky winners in the raffle draw, including roundtrip tickets to selected destinations, hotel accommodations and restaurant coupons.

Guests can also take part in a silent auction for special items during the event.

Hirsh said individuals who buy tickets for the Swinging 60’s event can avail of the $70 room rate at Fiesta Resort & Spa on Saturday evening.

2,000 tickets at $100 each have been printed  for Saturday event, Hirsh said.

If you can’t pick up your tickets, Hirsh said they will be happy to deliver them to your residence. Major credit cards are accepted. To get your tickets, call 234-3459.
