The incident occurred at about 2:23 a.m. on Palm St. by the CBA store.
Meiying Fang was walking when a “male individual” came from behind her and grabbed her purse, police said.
The suspect fled north to the Micro Beach area.
“The victim could only describe the suspect as wearing black pants with black shirt and had short hair,” according to Department of Public Safety spokesman Sgt. Thomas A. Blas Jr.
Blas said anyone having information about this crime should call the NMI Crime Stoppers at 234-7272.
On Oct. 1, a 28-year-old tourist lost her purse to a snatcher behind the Fiesta Resort & Spa, also in Garapan.
Police described the suspect as a “local male.”
Crime Stoppers’ coordinator PO2 Jason Tarkong earlier noted that there had been a string of theft incidents on the beaches of Fiesta Resort and Hyatt recently.
The victims were tourists.
