Dwight wins in Ngarchelong Special election

Election Officer III Festus Ringang said Dwight Ngichermat won in the election. He got 33 votes against his opponent Aderiano Noah who got 20 votes.

Ngriil hamlet has 77 registered voters but only 53 cast their votes.

Ringang said the election result will be certified today.

The special election was held to break the tie between the two candidates in Ngriil hamlet of whom got 23 votes each during the August 31 general election.

Meanwhile, the swearing in for the elected officials will be on Friday, Oct. 8

According to Ngarchelong State’s office the oath taking ceremony will be held at the old OEK building at 10 a.m.

Incumbent Gov. Browny Salvador will take his oath for his third consecutive term in office.

Meanwhile in Ngarelemgui State the special election will be held on Oct. 11

Emiwo Mad and Noel Ngiramab are the two candidates vying in Ngermetengel hamlet.

Whoever wins will occupy the vacant seat in Ngarchelong State Legislature vacated by legislator Webster “Tero” Franz.

Representing Ngermetengel hamlet Franz resigned from his post on Aug. 31. He was reportedly moved with his family to the United States where he has established residency.
