Josh Kiyoshi of the Saints yanked the lead away from the G-Stars by banking in 6 points for his team whilst teammates Luizi Reyes and Ben Iglecias secured the driver’s seat of the game by collaring 4 points each.
By the end of the first quarter the G-Stars were trailing behind the Saints by 3 points.
Don Brennan didn’t give the G-Stars a chance to close the gap. Brennan successfully dodged three G-Stars defenders and bagged two downtown shots for 6 easy points in the bank.
As if that wasn’t enough, Kiyoshi comes back with another downtown shot and teammate Ben Iglecias deposited 4 more points to widen the gap to 6 points at the end of the first half of the game.
Needless to say, the Saints’ players were on a winning rampage as they started the third quarter strong and ready to take on the fatigue driven G-Stars.
Luizi Reyes started the quarter by speedily bagging 6 points for his team whilst teammates Josh Kiyoshi and Ben Iglecias fended off 5 and 4 points respectively, foiling the G-Stars yet again by widening the gap to a huge 12 point crevice between themselves and the G-Stars.
In the final minutes of the game the G-Stars did not only battle the Saints but the clock too. Marvin Rabauliman hastily collared 12 points for his team giving a herculean effort to close the gap by himself.
During the fourth quarter he had a hard time working with his teammates as they continuously lost possession of the ball.
But teammate Ian Benavente tried to help him out by bagging two charities and 4 points to the team but that in turn was not enough to close the gap.
The Saints sailed past them in the final two minutes of the game as Eli Aughenbaugh managed to jump over the G-Stars’ defenders to bucket 4 more points burning away the opposing team’s precious time.
In the end, the Saints out shined the G-Stars by 4 points, 73-69.
