Under the FY 2010 budget, PSS should get $31.2 million from the central government. Of this amount, $30.3 million is for personnel, utilities and text books, while $849,200 remains unallotted.
Waldo said of the $30.3 million, only $27.9 million was transferred to PSS.
There is still $2.4 million that has not been transferred to the school system’s account in addition to the unallotted $849,370, Waldo said.
He believes that the administration is holding back the $3.2 million until it finds out how much PSS owes the Commonwealth Utilities Corp.
In an interview after the meeting, Waldo said he believes the government already knows how much PSS owes CUC, so he thinks the $3.2 million will be “wiped out” before PSS can get it.
