He will feature on the main event of the night. The fighter will go up against one of South Korea’s hottest heavyweights, “Hungry” Yang Hae Jun, who holds a record score of winning 5 rounds in his career and never letting the fight get to the second round.
“I practice every day to train myself and my mind to focus on my goal so I would not let anyone down who is counting on me. I made some mistakes in the past but I’m a new person now. I am ready to fight and I am ready to show Hong Kong what Saipan is made of.” added Fitial in an interview with the Variety yesterday.
To train for one of the biggest fights of his career, Fitial has been running, lifting weights, watching his diet, and staying active to keep his body in the best shape possible.
Fitial has competed in mixed martial arts on and off for the last six years. He has competed in Asia and other countries. He holds an overall record of 20 wins, and a draw; 7 of those wins being TKO’s, and 3 of them being submissions. He is the trainer for the Marianas Elite fight team and has been for the past 3 years.
Some of the fights Fitial took part in were: the main event of Trench Warz IX: Annihilation in 2008, in November 21 of 2009 Kelvin “The Big Hit” Fitial brought Mike “The Ogre” Davis to submission with the Guillotine choke in the 10th second of Round 1.
“The Big Hit” will be accompanied by teammate and student, Lionel “Da Hellion” Borja, who will be his corner man that night. “I want him to experience the different types of fights and fighters from off island” said Fitial.
“The Big Hit” stands at 6’ 3” and weighs 250 lbs. He uses boxing and wrestling as his specialty in the ring. His opponent, Yang Hae Jun, is 5’ 11” and weighs 238lbs. Opponent Yang is well known around the community as a stand-up fighter who also uses boxing and wrestling techniques; but with his techniques comes a strong power to knock anyone out of the way.
“Like I said earlier, I am ready to fight. I know he is well known for being a stand up fighter like me, but that doesn’t faze me” said Fitial.
