Man hits partner with chair, hollow block

Govendo remanded Ludwik, 36, to the custody of the Department of Corrections after the bail hearing yesterday.

Ludwik is being held on charges of disturbing the peace, assault and battery, and assault with a dangerous weapon.

Detective Sabino Cabrera said the victim, Margarita Litulumar, had just arrived at their home in Koblerville on the evening of Aug. 20, 2010.

The victim came from visiting a relative at the Commonwealth Health Center, police said.

“When Mr. Ludwik came home, they began to argue. [The defendant] picked up a wooden chair, and hit [the victim] on her back then picked up a hollow block and also used it to hit her on her back,” Cabrera said.

The victim’s two daughters screamed at Ludwik as they urged him to stop hitting their mother, but they were also threatened by the defendant who said he would hit them if they interfere, Cabrera said.

Ludwik later ran away from the house and was only arrested on Sept. 22.

The victim was transported to the Commonwealth Health Center for treatment. Her daughters said they were traumatized by their step-father’s threats.
