Rota parents’ ‘wish list’ coming true

PTSA president Dexter Apatang in an interview yesterday said aside from the $748,000 that the Rota delegation had appropriated, Sablan  secured $400,000 in federal money for the projects on the Rota parents’ “wish list.”

However, Apatang said only a few of the projects have been completed.

That is why he and other Rota parents visited Saipan yesterday to “follow-up.”

Apatang and another parent tried to convince the senators to consider the funding concerns of PSS.

Apatang said the PTSA’s “wish list” includes fencing and roofing of Sinapalo Elementary School, Dr. Rita Hocog-Inos Junior High and Rota High School; construction of a stage at  Rota High School and Sinapalo Elementary School; and the construction of Rota High School’s gymnasium; the construction of drop-off canopy and equipment storage room in Sinapalo.

Right now, only the fence and storage room of Sinapalo Elementary School have been constructed.

Apatang said they are fortunate that Sablan secured $400,000 in federal money which they plan to use for the construction of Rota High School’s gym.
