Tinian DPS to conduct checkpoints this week
(DPS) — The Tinian Department of Public Safety would like to inform the general public that the Traffic Section will be conducting OP/CR checkpoints this week.
The First OP/CR Checkpoint will be held on Monday, Sept. 20, along Broadway Road by Former Tinian Democrat headquarters on the southbound lane. It will start at 11:30 p.m. and end at 12:45 p.m.
The second OP/CR checkpoint set up will be held on Monday Sept. 20, along west bound Lane on Broadway Road by the baseball field in San Jose village. It will start at 4 p.m. and end at 5:15 p.m.
The second OP/CR checkpoint will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 22, along Broadway Road next to the Youth Center on the southbound lane. It will start at 4 p.m. and end at 5:15 p.m.
The Third OP/CR checkpoint will be held on Friday. Sept. 24, along west bound lane on Broadway Road by the baseball field in San Jose village. It will start at 11 a.m. and end at 12:15p.m.
The second OP/CR checkpoint set up will be held on Friday, Sept. 24, along Broadway Road next to the Youth Center on the southbound lane. It will start at 4:30p.m. and end at 5:45 p.m.
The traffic section will be conducting a courtesy car seat inspection at Long Feng Supermarket on Saturday Sept. 25, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
All the checkpoints are subject to be terminated if it begins to rain.
In addition to the checkpoints, officers will be conducting enforcement and laser activities.

Military to conduct training on FDM, south of Guam
(EMO) — The U.S. military will conduct training on Farallon De Mendenilla from Sunday to Monday, Sept. 19 to 20, 2 a.m. to 10 p.m., and in the areas south of Guam on Sept. 20, Monday, from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., and on Sept. 21, Tuesday, from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Due to the danger imposed by this activity, Gov. Benigno R. Fitial is advising the general public, especially fishermen, commercial pilots and marine tour operators, to stay away from this area during the time and dates indicated.
