$5000 will be awarded to hole #8 and the other $5000 will be awarded to hole #12.
There will be other prizes along with the $10,000. The top 3 finishers will receive cash prizes as well. Top finisher will get $700, second place will get $500, and third place will get $300, $200 for fourth place, and last but not least $100 for fifth place. The top 3 finishers will be awarded trophies with the cash prize.
Entrance fee is set at $90 and an optional $20 can be paid to gain entry to the closest pin side bet on par four; 3 holes. The money to will be raised from the side pot will be portioned and awarded to the winners of each hole.
Proceeds from the tournament will be donated to the Hospital for Burned and Crippled Children located in Manila, Philippines to help alleviate unfortunate people with medical bills and other necessary help.
The one-day event will use a double Peoria format throughout the tourney.
The Peoria System is a one-day handicap system used when most players don’t have established handicaps.
It allows all players to calculate something resembling a handicap allowance, following the round, and apply it to their scores. Peoria involves totaling a score on six pre-selected holes (which are unknown to golfers) and then each player’s net score is calculated with the six Peoria holes which are announced and each player totals their six secret holes.
That total is tripled and course par is subtracted out. The resulting number is multiplied by 80 percent; this is the player’s allowance. The allowance is subtracted from each player’s gross score to determine their net Peoria system score.
The Grand Masters Cup is open to both male and female golfers with the gentlemen teeing off from the white tee and the ladies from the red. The main tee off is set at 12:30 pm sharply.
After the tournament, an awards presentation and $1-per-coupon raffle drawing with cocktails served will take place at Aqua Resort Club’s Rey Lounge.
On the other hand, Fil-Taga Golfers Association decided to hold its October Ace of the Month with with the fundraising tournament.
Scores of Fil-Taga members joining the Grand Masters Cup will be compiled to determine the association’s October Ace.
