Reyes said music has been always part of the school curriculum, but musical instrument classes were offered only during weekdays after school depending on the availability of the teacher.
She said last year, they incorporated Chinese lessons in their K-6 curriculum as an additional subject.
Reyes said classes are scheduled from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. every Saturday.
“The private music lessons include piano and violin, and the fee is $20 per hour,” she said. For now, they offer only private music lessons and no group classes yet.
“Music lessons usually require individual instruction depending on the prior knowledge of the student in that instrument,” she said.
For the Chinese group lessons, the fee is $15 per week. Reyes said they have many available Chinese-speaking teachers but classes will have a small student-teacher ratio.
