“We’ve counted the ballots and we know who won,” she said.
But she did not say who won or what the voter turnout was.
The Legislative Bureau said MHS had the most number of voters since its population of 1,300 is the largest among high schools on Saipan.
Some MHS students interviewed by this reporter said they were not aware of the election.
Jay-R Palacios said he was not informed about it.
“Even if I knew, I would not have voted anyway,” he added.
He said some students probably voted for compliance purposes and not because they wanted to vote for certain candidates.
“Whoever they are, I really don’t feel they are good enough,” he added.
He said he would rather vote for Northern Marianas College’s candidates.
“They probably know better and are more matured,” he added.
Two other students of MHS and a teacher who refused to be identified said they were not aware of the election.
The election results will be disclosed today, according to the Legislative Bureau, which earlier said that it would make the announcement yesterday.
The bureau refused to disclose any information about the election including the names of the candidates and the number of voters who cast their ballots.
