Senatorial forum today, gubernatorial debate on Tuesday

The gubernatorial debate will take place on Tuesday, Oct. 27, at the same venue.

Both events will begin promptly at 6:30 p.m.

Audience members arriving after the beginning of the event will not be able to enter the hall until a break in the event.

Tickets are available for purchase at the Saipan Chamber of Commerce office and are $15 each when purchased in advance and $20 at the door.

Students with valid school identification may purchase tickets for $7.

To ensure everyone’s enjoyment at the events, and out of courtesy for the candidates, the chamber reminds the public of the following rules of etiquette for the audience:

• Turn off (or set to silent mode) pagers and cellular phones.  If you must talk on the phone, please step outside the hall.  You will not be allowed to re-enter the hall until an intermission or until the end of the forum/debate.

• Refrain from talking during the forum/debate.

• Do not use flash cameras during the forum/debate.  You may use flash cameras at the intermission and after the end of the event.

• Refreshments are available for purchase at the back of the hall.  Wait until a break in the question and answers before moving to the back of the hall to purchase refreshments.

• Do not applaud during the forum/debate.  There will be a time to applaud at intermission and at the end of the event.

Audience members are not allowed to carry banners, hold signs or anything else that would distract the speakers.

Audience members also may not display any promotional material supporting any candidate, including but not limited to buttons, hats, t-shirts, etc.

• No smoking.

• No betel nut chewing.

• No alcohol consumption.
