After being down by seven points at the opening quarter, Surangel players Arnold, Arnel, and Deloy with the rest of the crew worked on their offense and fortified their defense to get back on the game. And as another classic game in the making, point guard Deloy Pingot scored 35 points for Surangel which includes a three point dagger at the dying seconds of the fourth to equalize the score forcing overtime against PPR – Shark Attack. Then team mate Arnel took matters in his own hands to finish off their opponent when he scored 9 straight points for his team in the extension period with a total of 24 for the entire match. Although PPR – Shark Attack got a spectacular game from veteran players Javis Pedro and Ceasar who shot for 46 and 16 respectively, while streak shooting Benny Feliciano dropping 14, they could not sustain the two small guards of Surangel who did the beating. As a consequence, team PPR succumb to a score of 107 – 99.
In the meantime with all the teams done with their regular rounds, playoff games are about to begin on with teams matched up base on their team standings. Number one ranked Surangel will be pitted against # 10 Sam’s Sharks, # 2 Galaxy Builders faces off with # 9 Palasia Hotel, # 3 PRR – Royals versus # 8 Fuji / WCTC, # 4 Fish N Fins tests #7 Island Rhythm, lastly #5 PPR Shark Attack versus # 6 Cliffside Hotel. Games will be played every night to determine the division champions.
