Teachers institute ends, Rota and Tinian participants to take final exam

Twenty-five teachers on Saipan participated in the six-week institute that aimed to give them a broader knowledge regarding the history and culture of the CNMI.

The institute ended on Saturday and the participants in Saipan took their final examination yesterday.

The examination, which had at least 100 questions about the major points that were discussed during the program, is the final requirement that the participants should pass before being granted a certificate of completion.

Russel said participants on Rota and Tinian have yet to take their final examination since they are still waiting for the last presentation.

Due to a technical problem that interrupted the video teleconference for Rota and Tinian, Russel said the council sent a Power Point presentation to each of the participants there.

He said they are still waiting for the package that was sent through mail.

This week, Russel said the Humanities Council will  evaluate the performance of the participants including the results of the final examination.

The council received good feedback from the participants, he added.

“Based on my initial review of the forms, the teachers had positive reactions about the institute.”

He said the participants suggested improving a few housekeeping rules to enhance the learning experience in the next institute.

“Overall, it was a great experience as we consistently had during the previous years,” he added.
