“I hope the guy is out there, and hopefully he was picked up and we are requesting [people] to report to us,” said Department of Public Safety-Tinian Director Jose King in an interview minutes before they ended the mission.
“If there’s evidence or a sign of possible sighting, we will resume our search and recovery mission,” he went on to say.
King said flyers have been posted all over the island, while DPS personnel and volunteers will continue to check Tinian beach sites for any signs of Bell.
The Emergency Management Office coordinated the five-day operations to find Bell.
Local and federal agencies, including the U.S. Navy joined the search.
