In partnership with Club V, Trench Tech will stage for the first time on the island, the Arm Wrestling Challenge 2009 from Nov. 27 to 28.
Although only eight individuals have signed up to compete in the event, a great number of Club V goers showed interest, according to Fernando Ureta, assistant F&B manager of Saipan Grand Hotel who is coordinating the newly organized sports.
Curious onlookers took copies of rules and regulations at the booth during the official registration that coincided with Club V’s fourth anniversary.
Most of those who expressed interest in arm wrestling were body builders and mixed martial arts fans who did not have the chance to set foot on the cage or ring.
“It’s our humble way of showing our gratitude for the continued patronage of Cluv V by our customers,” Ureta said adding that the event aims to showcase the important aspect of the island’s culture.
The Arm for War will have challengers in three divisions, lightweight, middleweight and heavyweight.
Aside from Club V and Saipan Grand Hotel the other sponsors of the event are Miller Lite and Docomo.
