Field Day is held each quarter to allow students, school staff and teachers to interact with each other outside the classrooms.
At the same time, students with a potential to excel in sports are “discovered,” Muna said.
Oleai has been holding the event for 10 years already but new games are introduced every now and then, he added.
According to the principal, “This is how we promote healthy lifestyle and unity in the school.”
This quarter’s event coordinator, second grade class teacher Arlene Cholymay, said they introduced the coconut husking event for fifth and six graders.
The other games for these students were baseball and volleyball.
Field Day’s final event was a ball game between the students and teachers/staff.
The games for kindergarten to second graders were musical chairs, over-under, ball between legs race, sack race, hula hoop, red light-green light, duck duck goose, jump rope race, water cup race, sky scrapper and bulldozer.
The third and fourth graders played stretching, sack race, dodge ball, water cup race, over-under, hula hoops and spoon race.
