Peleliu students get roasted Turkeys for Thanksgiving lunch

KOROR (Palau Horizon) – The students and staff of Peleliu Elementary School had their pre-Thanksgiving lunch yesterday with the inclusion of roasted Turkeys in the main dish.

The students including the Head Start and the teachers and staff were treated to an early Thanksgiving lunch by a former Peleliu resident Joseph Giramur.

Giramur donated six turkeys yesterday which were served to the students and teachers.

The turkeys weighed more than 100 lbs and cost over $200.

Giramur delivered the turkeys to Peleliu yesterday morning and turned them over to the school’s principal Ngereblunt Arurang.

Arurang said the turkeys will feed 84 elementary students, 24 Head Start students, 19 regular staff and 4 Head Start staff for a total of 131 persons.

Giramur, alumni of Peleliu Elementary School and former Director of Bureau of Immigration has been donating turkeys to the Peleliu Elementary School during Thanksgiving Day for the past four years now.

Arurang thanked Giramur for the latter’s generosity for the past four years now.
