Palau Election Commission: “All set for November 10 Koror State Election”

Election Commission Officer Avery Midas in a phone interview yesterday said that they are done with the printing of election ballots.

He said they initially printed out 4,650 copies of ballots but have to print additional 50 copies.

The 4,700 ballots will be distributed to 12 Hamlets namely Ngermid, Ngerchemai, Idid, Ikelau, Dngeronger, Meyuns, Ngerkesoaol, Iyebukel, Meketii, Ngerbeched, Madalaii and Ngerkebesang.

Midas said they are now doing confirmations on all polling precincts. This preparation will not take more than a week so he said by next week everything is ready.

The total registered voters for Koror is 5,238.

The Election Commission said that as of Wednesday, they already sent 377 absentee ballots to Saipan, Guam, Hawaii and US.

There will be 18 candidates for Legislature at-large and 24 for Legislature in Hamlets.

For the Governor, only former Senator Alan Seid is running against incumbent candidate Governor Yositaka Adachi.

The casting of vote will start at 7 am and will close at 7 pm.
