Education Comissioner Rita A. Sablan said a special committee may be formed to draft an action plan for this type of training for parents.
The committee will determine what the parents need to do to support their children with their school work.
“What I want to see are the parents as part of this group so they can go through the same process that I went through,” said Frances Diaz, special education advisory panel chairwoman.
“They can get more resources if they only know how to get it. We need to have some kind of action plan by December so we can start training for the parents. I like to see that we bring the trainers to Tinian and Rota instead of bringing a group of parents here. So that we can reach out to parents if we bring it to each island.”
