These individuals are reminded to bring their permits and/or passports to show proof of identification.
The purpose of these umbrella permits is to protect the status of holders from Nov. 27, 2009 through Nov. 27, 2011.
The pickup schedule is as follows:
For those who currently hold valid permits:
FOREIGN INVESTMENT CERTIFICATE HOLDERS – Immigration category 240G (Formerly 706G)
LONG TERM BUSINESS CERTIFICATE HOLDERS – Immigration category 240N (Formerly 706N.6(A))
FOREIGN RETIREE – Immigration category 240O (Formerly 706O)
Above permit holders with last names starting with A through L: Nov 10
Above permit holders with last names starting with M through Z: Nov 12
FOREIGN STUDENT – Immigration category 240H (Formerly 706H)
Above permit holders with last names starting with A through L: Nov 16
Above permit holders with last names starting with M through Z: Nov 17
For those investors whose permit applications are pending: Nov. 23, 24
For those students whose permit applications are pending: Nov. 24, 25
For all Commerce permit holders who miss the original date: Nov. 24, 25
All Commerce permit holders should make sure to pick up their umbrella permits before Nov. 27, 2009.
With respect to umbrella permits for the immediate relatives of all Commerce permit holders, the Department of Labor will issue such permits.
For those who currently hold valid immediate relative permits: Nov. 10, 12, 13 at the 1st floor distribution center at the Labor building in San Antonio.
For those who do not currently hold valid immediate relative permits, but whose applications are pending or who qualify under the governor’s expanded program to keep families together:
Fill out a request form on Nov. 10, 12 at the Administrative Hearing Office; pick up permits on Tuesday afternoon, Nov. 17 at the Administrative Hearing Office.
The Department of Commerce reminds all permit holders that the underlying permit approved by the Department of Commerce must remain in good standing; otherwise the umbrella permit will be revoked.
