Fixers foil Club Wonderful’s surge in Miller Lite playoff

Besides E&E, the Fixers is the second team that saw the glimmer of championship slot when power house Star Water started waning in the past few weeks following its two star players’ leave.

With Boy Garcia and Manolo Manalo Barrios backing him up both in the back court and offense, Barrios maintained his feat in leading the teams’ scoring hands.

He and Manalo set the lead in the first quarter.

Ruel Cayanan fired two straight three-pointers in the third quarter to help the Fixers stretch the lead. Jon Artates also blasted from behind the arc.

Jojo Ong scored 19 points for Club Wonderful in a losing attempt.

E&E 70, Jaypers 58

Alex Ocampo scattered 26 points in the court as E&E refused to give way to the Jaypers beating them, 70-58.

Ocampo rampaged with eight points to set the lead in the first quarter and Dennis Morales added four points.

Ocampo continued the rage in the second quarter pouring in 10 more points while Ed Cosino contributed six points. Cosino help E&E hang on to their lead by firing six more points and Morales basketed his three free throw shots.

White Capalad and Vonvon Tamayo scored 17 and 16 points respectively as they carried the team together in a losing cause.
