This event comes after three weeks of training on Pohnpei, and additional six weeks in Yap during which they studied language and cultural skills.
Three volunteers will be departing to teach at schools in the Woleai Atoll, while three will be teaching here on Yap proper, and one volunteer will be going to Mogmog in the Ulithi Atoll.
During the swear-in ceremony the trainees will perform songs and a dance, and each of them will give a short speech.
The ceremony marks the beginning of their two-year Peace Corps service here, and is an important day for both the new volunteers, and the people of Yap.
