Vehicle burns after collision

Traffic investigators had yet to disclose how many people were  injured but responding police officers were seen pulling away two persons from the burning blue pick-up.

The truck was facing west while the other vehicle, a white pick-up, was headed east.

The head-on collision took place shortly before midnight  at the intersection of Msgr. Guerrero and College Roads.

Greg Duatin, one of the teenagers playing video games in a nearby Internet café, said they heard a banging noise and saw the blue truck already on fire.

A man, who is  believed to be the driver of the white pick-up, shouted for help.

Duatin said another person emerged from a nearby residence and helped pull the occupants out of the burning truck.

Fired had already engulfed the front half of the truck when firefighters and Emergency Medical Services personnel arrived.

Witnesses said a Nissan Maxima was headed  to Dandan when the trucks collided.

The Maxima managed to swerve to the right but still avoided the NMC riprap and hit the pick-up truck which damaged  the vehicle’s left fender.
