Sixteen students left the island last night for their first Guam educational tour.
They want to give a “heartfelt thank you” to all the people who donated and those who provided their time and effort to make the trip possible, Torres said.
She and introduction to criminal justice instructor Joaquin Palacios are accompanying the students to Guam.
Palacios, Torres said, is a good companion since he is an alumnus of the University of Guam.
“He could provide a preview and a background for the students and help them connect with the people he know on the UOG campus,” she added.
The Interclub Organization of NMC provided financial assistance to the students who also held fundraisers.
The group cancelled the car wash fundraiser on Tuesday but held a final penny drive fundraiser.
The students are set to visit the Guam Police Department, its crime laboratory and the University of Guam today.
